My Eagle Project at Hillsboro Middle

In late 2023, I began looking for potential organizations to support for my Boy Scout Eagle Project. In the summer of 2024, after much searching, I got in contact with a place in need of help: Hillsboro Middle, the place I had gone to middle school.

The project was split into two parts and carried out over two days. The first day, taking place on August 4, involved the efforts of several other scouts in my troop with some of my family coming over to help out. We removed weeds, cut branches, filled in every flowerbed with a truckload of new mulch, and replaced flowers in the many flowerpots near the entrance.

The second day, taking place on October 27, involved installing a bench under the large flowerbed with the two trees. The bench, assembled by me and my dad in our garage after the first project day, had its design reverse-engineered from another bench we had seen at a nearby park.
